A commuter camper participates in all activities with the camp, but does not eat breakfast with the camp and does not stay overnight in the dorms with the other campers. Campers who are staying in a hotel with their parents or who live locally and do not want to stay in the dorm should think about this option. Camp Description Overnight Camp Live the Stanford Basketball Experience at the Stanford Overnight Camp. Days are filled with skill development, competitive games and game analysis. Shooting competitions and 3 on 3 competition are a highlight of the overnight experience. All campers stay on campus in the Stanford Dormitories (under strict staff supervision) and have meals in the student dining halls. High Potential Camp This camp session is recommended to 8th grade (as of Fall 2012) and high school basketball players that are at the intermediate to advanced level, seeking competitive sessions of basketball. This camp consists of very intense sessions of games and instructions for athletes who aspire to play in high school and at the club level. The High Potential Camp is targeted toward those individuals who are excelling on their High School, Club or AAU teams and wish to participate and learn about the college experience and what it takes to get there. The Stanford Coaching Staff is on hand for the entire camp and is heavily involved in instruction, including coaching position breakdown sessions. What To Bring To Camp Please mark all belongings with name tags or indelible marking ink. It is suggested that a list of belongings accompany each camper. Please leave expensive watches and cameras at home. Linens will not be provided. A refundable key deposit must be made at registration with a separate check for $125. This deposit will be returned upon check out provided the camper has not lost his key. This deposit is required by Stanford University for anyone staying in the dorms. Roommates: Schedule: Daily and Game Schedules are posted at the dorms and at Maples Pavilion. Game schedules are subject to change, especially on the last day of camp. Teams: Campers are placed on teams according to age, size and ability. Our priority in forming teams is to have balanced competition. Therefore, we do not honor team assignment requests. In some cases, players are "traded" from the team assigned at registration to better balance the competition. Trainer: There is a qualified trainer on duty 24 hours a day in case of illness or injury. The trainer will also administer prescribed medications if this service is requested at registration. Camp Store: The camp store offers snacks, drinks, and exclusive Stanford Basketball Camp merchandise. Camp Bank: All overnight campers are strongly advised to keep their spending money in the Camp Bank. The Bank will be open any time the Camp Store is open. There is no fee for this service. Parents can "make a deposit" at registration. Any unused money will be returned at check-out. Meals: Campers eat meals in the Student Dining Hall. A variety of selections are prepared for each meal. A vegetarian offering is provided for all meals. Commuter Camper tuition includes lunch and dinner. Transportation: Transportation to and from the San Jose Airport will be provided to campers that have made arrangements two weeks prior to the start of camp. The cost for the service is $15 each way. Please call to confirm ride availability if San Francisco is the only airport you are able to fly into. Health Care: There is a qualified trainer on duty 24 hours a day in case of illness or injury. In the case of an emergency, parents will be contacted immediately. Campers would be transported to either the Palo Alto Medical Foundation or the Stanford Hospital. Keys: There is a $125 key deposit for all resident campers is required by Stanford Housing which will be returned at checkout – when the key has been returned. Campers are advised to tie their key to their shoelace or attach to their neck lanyard. Campers who lose their key, or fail to turn it in at checkout will lose their deposit, which covers the cost of replacing the entire lock, not just the key. The key deposit must be made via a separate $125 check made to Stanford Athletics and submitted at check-in when dorm keys are dispersed. Check In: Overnight Camp and High Potential Camp: 5:00 PM on Friday, June 22. Dinner will be served immediately after check-in. Check Out: Check-out/camper pick-up will be 1:00 PM on Monday, June 25. Early/ Late Arrivals: Unfortunately Stanford Basketball Camp has neither the staff nor facilities to accommodate campers who arrive a day early, or need to stay a day after the dates of camp. Payment may be made by e check or credit card. Please contact the camp office directly if you choose to pay by check. Currently our internet registration is unable to accept checks. Cancellation Policy There is a $100 cancellation fee per camper for cancellations before June 1. There are no refunds for ANY reason for cancellation after June 1.
